I currently hold Master's degrees in both Childhood and Special Education and a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing. I am certified in Elementary and Middle Childhood Education in addition to the Orton-Gillingham based method called The Wilson Reading System, Wilson Fundations, Wilson Just Words, Fountas & Pinnell Leveled Literacy Intervention System, The Lavinia Group Close Reading for Meaning Method, Accelerated Reader, and READ 180. Additionally, I have analyzed and utilized data from informal and formal assessments.

I have been awarded master's degrees in Childhood Education, hold certificates in both Elementary (1-6) and Middle Education (5-8), and will be awarded an Advanced Certificate in Special Education by the Relay Graduate School of Education in addition to Level 1 Certification for the Wilson Reading System (WRS). WRS is a program that uses teaching methods that are effective with students with dyslexia to meet the goal of helping individuals to become independent readers. My work at Girls Prep Lower East Side Middle School (and all previous school settings) is geared towards supporting exceptional learners - many whose IEPs indicate particular needs because of dyslexia (10+ years). I am well-versed with creating specialized instruction bases on IEP goals, student strengths and areas of growth. I also have experience tutoring students who have been diagnosed with dyslexia.
