As an English secondary teacher for the past 20 years; I have gained the tools needed to prepare students for 21st century careers and aspirations. As a English teacher with special education credentials I believe any student can
gain succeed as a reader, researcher, writer, test-taker or all around scholar through practice and perseverance. Through positive guidance and skill centered instruction in language arts; I have learned to understand that all students are readers and writers when guided a step at a time to reach their goals.
As an inner city teacher for the last 16 years; I have been able to enjoy success as a teacher with diversified students. Many times I was challenged to help my students understand why reading and writing were so important. Yet, despite resistance at times, my message reached many students.
