I graduated Summa Cum Laude (4.0 GPA) with a B.A. in Psychology and Linguistics from Stony Brook University and am currently pursuing a graduate degree in Speech-Language Pathology at Queens College. I have 5+ years of experience privately tutoring English and Math at the high school level with measurable improvements in performance. For example, over the past year, my student's AP Statistics grade increased from a C average to an A+ after beginning tutoring with me. With a 1540 SAT score (780 EBRW, 760 Math) and a 324 GRE score (169 V, 155Q, 5.5 AW), I'm also well-versed in standardized exams, including the new digital SAT format.
I'm extremely passionate about education at all levels with experience teaching a classroom in 10th grade English at a charter school and the past years' experience working one-on-one with students ages 6-19 with autism spectrum disorder, dyslexia, and other language-related difficulties. My supervised clinician experience has taught me the importance of building rapport, leading with examples and models, and providing a scaffolded hierarchy of support, all built on the research-backed, foundational principles of learning.
I believe in challenging my students in a highly supportive environment that not only pushes them to excel, but to enjoy the process as well! I would love to hear from you and learn more about how I can best support you in your educational journey.
