I'm Meyer Nam, a 2022 Bachelor graduate from Mannes School of Music. I have six years of experience teaching piano privately.

In addition to teaching privately, I also have experience teaching in a private music school. While running my own studio at this school, I also substituted for two colleagues. Under my instruction, my students and theirs achieved wonderful results from NYSSMA and ABRSM.
I encourage students to become independent right away, teaching them to learn notes effectively so they are able to learn pieces in their own time. They will be able to apply their own interpretation while taking the composer's intent into account. This to me, forms a successful student as they grow to be independent and are able to understand how to portray music the composer intended it to be played.
My students learn their pieces quite quickly and learn more about the musicality of the piece than just about the notes. I also cover more aspects of music such as theory, history, and literature. The result is that my students become more well rounded and educated than the average pianist.
I have personally worked with world class musicians during my training. Pedagogues include Yuri Kim, Mark Evans, Daria Rabotkina, Stephanie Brown, Massimiliano Ferrati, Quynh Nguyen, Vladimir Valjarevic, Michael Thomopoulos, Vladimir Valjarevic, John Kamitsuka, and Oxana Yablonskaya.
I continuously reinvest resources, and time into becoming a better teacher. I connect with my former teachers about their methods, and have joined organizations such as MTNA, and Piano Teachers Congress. My efforts have been recognized by Steinway & Sons, one of the best piano manufacturers in the world. I joined their Steinway Teacher and Educational Partner program in 2023.
My annual recitals will be held in the prestigious Steinway Hall in Manhattan, thanks to the Partnership program.
