Excellent Math Tutor Who Builds Understanding and Confidence
Lei has been an excellent tutor for my daughter, helping her with both Algebra II and preparation for the NYS Geometry Regents. What I appreciate most is his patience, thorough explanations, and genuine commitment to making sure she understands the material rather than simply memorizing steps or getting the correct answer. He takes the time to break down challenging concepts, work through examples, and then encourage her to solve problems independently. I’ve been especially impressed with how he helps her think through mistakes, explain her reasoning, and build confidence in her abilities. I also appreciate how collaborative he has been with me as a parent. He welcomes my involvement, provides feedback on her progress, and helps me understand how to reinforce the concepts between sessions. Repetition and consistent practice are important for my daughter, and his approach has complemented the additional work we do at home. We’ve already seen encouraging progress in her confidence, engagement, and ability to approach challenging problems more independently. Lei is knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely invested in his students’ success. I’m very happy with our experience and would absolutely recommend him to other families looking for a dedicated math tutor.

Excellent math tutor - highly recommend!
My daughter said she needed help with geometry/algebra 2 two weeks before her midterm. We reached out to Lei on Wyzant and explained the situation, and he was able to provide a few tutoring sessions before her test. Lei helped her tremendously in just those few sessions. She felt much more confident and ended up doing well on her midterm. Lei explains concepts clearly and empasizes understanding rather than rote learning. When working on math problems together he provides the right level of guidance, encouraging her to think through the problem/steps independently as much as she can. Also, he is patient and encouraging in his teaching approach which is an important factor for my daughter. Would highly recommend Lei to anyone looking for a proficient math tutor.

Knowledgeable and enthusiastic tutor
Lei has been able to help my high school senior with pre-calculus and algebra. He said Lei was greet to work with. He had a great way of explaining the functions and was enthusiastic and very encouraging! My son’s next quiz grade was 100! Lei made all the difference!
