Hi, I’m Andrew! I recently graduated with honors in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Wake Forest University, where I developed a strong foundation for the sciences and discovered how much I enjoy helping others learn. My approach to tutoring is patient, encouraging, and individualized. I know from my own experience as a student that sometimes a concept makes sense when it is explained one way and becomes much clearer when someone approaches it from a different angle. Rather than simply giving students an answer, I like to work through problems with them, ask questions to understand where they are getting stuck, and adapt my approach to their learning style. My goal is to help students understand the material well enough to confidently tackle the next problem on their own.
During college, I worked at Wake Forest’s Chemistry Center, tutoring students in General Chemistry I and II and Organic Chemistry I and II. I especially enjoyed helping students become more comfortable with material that initially felt intimidating. This experience taught me that being a good tutor is about more than knowing the material. It is about understanding how a student is thinking and finding an explanation that makes the concept click. I also earned a 90th percentile MCAT score, which required me to master a broad range of material including biology, biochemistry, chemistry, physics, and psychology. I enjoy working with students at all levels, from high school students building their foundation in science to college students navigating challenging courses and premed students preparing for the MCAT.
Whether you are preparing for an upcoming exam, struggling with a difficult concept, or simply looking to become more confident in science, I want to make learning feel approachable and help you develop the skills to succeed independently.
