Hi! My name is Pierce, and I’m a high school senior with a strong passion for mathematics and helping other students understand it clearly and confidently.

Math has always been my strongest subject. I have taken advanced math courses throughout high school, including Honors math, AP Statistics, and AP Calculus BC. I will be attending Amherst College this fall, where I plan to continue studying a quantitative field such as mathematics, economics, or data science.

I also have real tutoring experience. I work as a volunteer math tutor through Schoolhouse.world, where I help students prepare for the SAT and improve their math skills. In this role, I lead small group sessions and work one-on-one with students to break down complex problems into simple, understandable steps. My goal is always to make students feel more confident and less intimidated by math.

In addition, I wrote an Algebra 1 guide designed specifically for middle school students who struggle with math. I created the book to make concepts easier to understand using clear explanations and practical examples. This experience helped me learn how to explain math in different ways so that students with different learning styles can understand.

My tutoring style is patient, encouraging, and step-by-step. I focus on helping students truly understand the “why” behind the math, not just memorize formulas. Whether a student needs help with homework, preparing for a test, or building a stronger math foundation, I work with them at their pace until the concept clicks.
