Hello! I’m a Ph.D. chemist and university professor with a passion for helping students build confidence and mastery in science. I currently serve as a Biochemistry professor in Buffalo NY, and previously taught chemistry for several years as an Associate Professor at SUNY Jamestown. Over the course of my career I have taught and mentored students across a wide range of levels—from introductory high school chemistry concepts to advanced undergraduate biochemistry and organic chemistry. My academic training includes a Ph.D. and M.A. in Chemistry from the University at Buffalo and a B.S. in Biochemistry from Canisius College (summa cum laude, ACS-certified). In addition to teaching, I have published pedagogical research and remain actively involved in science outreach through programs like ACS Science Coaches.
My tutoring approach focuses on building deep understanding rather than memorization. Chemistry and biochemistry can feel overwhelming because they combine conceptual thinking, math, and problem solving. I work with students to break complex ideas into manageable steps, identify where confusion begins, and develop strategies that make problems more intuitive. Whether we are working through general chemistry calculations, organic reaction mechanisms, or biochemistry pathways, my goal is to help students see the logic behind the science. I also emphasize study strategies, problem-solving frameworks, and exam preparation techniques that students can continue using long after a tutoring session ends.
I have extensive experience working with students from diverse academic backgrounds, including first-year college students, pre-health majors, and students preparing for demanding science courses and standardized tests like the MCAT. If you are looking for patient guidance, clear explanations, and structured support in chemistry or related subjects, I would be happy to work with you.
