Hi! My name is Luna Zhang, and I am passionate about making math and computer science (CS) (including AI, data science, machine learning) accessible and enjoyable for students of all ages. I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Data Management/Data Analytics. I also studied Computer Science (CS) at Cornell University (undergraduate). I have been taking graduate courses at the University of Michigan for its Master of Applied Data Science program; I hold a 4.0 GPA. My math specialties are Algebra I & II, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-calculus, Pre-algebra, Calculus, Probability, Statistics, SAT/ACT/GRE Math Preparation, any other math courses. My CS specialties are introductory-level programming (Python, Java), artificial intelligence (AI), data science, and machine learning.

My approach to teaching is student-centered, focusing on individual learning styles and strengths. My goal is to create a supportive and interactive learning environment where students can ask any questions and explore various problem-solving methods. I strive to make complex concepts easy to understand. My teaching methodology includes interactive and engaging lessons using real-world examples, encouragement of critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and being based on each student’s qualities and needs.

My tutoring experiences include 5+ years of tutoring students ranging from elementary school to college level, captain of my high school’s math team, member of a Cornell student organization (I led an outreach program that taught CS to middle and high school students), and helping college and post-college students with CS and data science questions. Some of my additional skills and achievements include perfect scores in math section on the SAT and SAT Math II Subject Test, almost perfect score (90+ percentile) in Quantitative Reasoning on the GRE, and performing well in local, state-wide, and national math competitions.
