I am a highly experienced educator and tutor with over 25 years of teaching and 22 years of tutoring experience, specializing in reading intervention, executive functioning, and secondary social studies. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in History Education and a Master’s degree in Instructional Technology, which allows me to combine strong content knowledge with research-based, effective instructional strategies.
For the past several years, I have focused heavily on reading instruction using the Wilson Reading Program, working with students third grade and up who struggle with decoding, fluency, and comprehension. I am trained in structured, multisensory reading instruction and tailor each session to meet the individual needs of the learner.
In addition to reading, I work extensively with high school students, college students, and adults on executive functioning skills, including organization, time management, planning, study skills, and building sustainable habits for long-term success. I truly enjoy helping learners develop systems that reduce stress and increase confidence both academically and in everyday life.
I also tutor U.S. History, Geography, Government, and Politics, drawing from my many years in secondary education to help students strengthen content knowledge, critical thinking, and writing skills. I offer one-on-one tutoring online or in person near my home, and I pride myself on creating a supportive, encouraging learning environment where students feel understood, capable, and empowered.
