Hello, I’m Ryan! I graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry and a minor in Mathematics from Hamilton College, where I earned departmental honors and the senior prize in biochemistry, and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa, a prestigious academic honor society. My studies gave me a strong foundation in biochemistry, organic chemistry, and general chemistry, further reinforced by a 520 on the MCAT (97th percentile), which sharpened my mastery of the sciences.

In addition to my academic background, I have extensive tutoring/teaching experience across different age groups and settings. At Hamilton College, I served as the Head Research Tutor at the college’s STEM tutoring center, where, for two years, I mentored countless college students individually in biochemistry, organic chemistry, general chemistry, and biology. In this role, I also led group study sessions and trained other tutors on effective tutoring practices. My tutoring style is student-centered and interactive. I aim to gauge each student’s level of understanding, identify knowledge gaps, and employ open-ended questions to drive independent critical thinking.

Beyond the college level, I have dedicated four years to virtually tutoring low-income high school students as an academic coach volunteer for the nonprofit UPchieve in biology, chemistry, algebra, and geometry. I have also volunteered as a virtual SAT math tutor for the organization Atollo Prep and as a math homework tutor for Clinton Middle School.

Across all my tutoring experiences, I learned to nurture student confidence, adapt my support to individual needs, and ultimately empower students to attain academic success.
