Hi, I am Flora! I am currently a student at Columbia University, majoring in computer science. I graduated from high school with an unweighted GPA of 3.99/4.0 and taken 14 APs, including AP Calculus BC, AP Physics I & II, AP US History, AP Computer Science A, and more. My most confident subjects are math and science. Furthermore, my strong math foundation has also allowed me to previously qualified for AIME (American Invitational Mathematics Exam). However, I am also comfortable with other subjects as well; please feel free to reach out!
As a student, I believe I also offer a unique perspective for my students because I can relate to them in their learning process. I greatly enjoy working with and connecting with others, allowing them to grow their passion and gain confidence in subjects, while also being a friend to study with. I have previously tutored high school students one-on-one, planning lessons and focusing on supplementing their weaker topics in the subject. I have also taught group classes for elementary students about coding and programming, teaching them from beginner coding to ultimately creating their own first project.
As a tutor, I am open to various methods, depending on how the student learns best. Lessons can range from presentation/lecture types, to supplemental lessons for a course taken in school. I provide study guides and compile problem sets as needed.
