I am a native Korean speaker with several years of experience teaching and tutoring Korean in the United States. In New York, I have taught Korean through the Brooklyn Public Library, including leading Korean conversation groups at Macon Library. I have experience working both one-on-one and with small groups, and I enjoy helping students develop practical Korean skills they can actually use in conversation.
I graduated from Beijing Language and Culture University, where I studied Chinese Language. I also completed the ACTFL Korean Writing Proficiency Test (WPT) and received an Advanced Low rating. Because I have personally studied another language in an academic setting, I understand the challenges students face when learning a new language and the importance of clear explanations, repetition, and consistent practice.
I adapt my lessons to each student’s level, goals, and learning style. I can help with Hangul, conversation, pronunciation, grammar, reading and writing, and natural Korean expressions used in everyday communication. My goal is to make Korean easier to understand and to give students plenty of opportunities to practice, ask questions, correct mistakes, and gradually become more confident using Korean.
