Hi I'm Jake! I graduated from UCLA in 2022 with a double major in physics and chemistry with a physical chemistry concentration as well as a minor in math. I am a National AP Scholar with fifteen 5's on AP tests, and I was a Regents Scholar at UCLA, which is an honor awarded to the top 0.1% of the 135,000 annual applicants. I am currently a Ph.D. candidate at Cornell University working on accelerator physics, where I have TA'd and tutored students at the undergraduate and graduate level. I have a strong passion for engaging with math and physical sciences, and I wish to instill this passion in my students as well. My tutoring style emphasizes building a personal connection with my students, so I can learn the unique ways in which they learn. This allows me to cater my approach to conveying information that the student will understand and master most efficiently. I will go above and beyond to ensure my students feel as comfortable as possible and get enough exposure and practice to build confidence in their own abilities. My lessons are very flexible, though I generally provide an even balance of instruction and practice problems. I have worked with students at the university level, high school level, and junior high level, and I have a solid understanding of what professors, teachers, and college admissions seek in their students.

I want my students to develop their own critical thinking tools, so they can build their grades, test scores, self-confidence, and ultimately the life they choose. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or would like to schedule a lesson. Prices and scheduling are flexible. Thank you for your consideration.

Awesome, Knowledgeable Tutor!

My son is having some challenges with distance learning. He is taking a rigorous workload in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Program and needed some one on one teaching. Jake has been very helpful in difficult coursework. Explaining things concisely and working through hurdles with online learning. Very easy to work with, convenient availability, meets you and your student's needs. So happy to have found Jake!
