Hello! My name is Avi and I recently got my PhD in experimental physics from Cornell. My research involved studying different materials, mainly superconductors and magnets to understand how they work. So my professional background is very heavy in science and math. Doing experiments means that I applied math and physics ideas to the real world, giving me appreciation and context that shapes how I teach. I care a lot about these subjects and genuinely enjoy explaining science and math concepts to other people.
I have been tutoring for over ten years. All of my tutoring experience has been one-on-one with high school and middle school students, primarily in math along with some physics. I believe my students benefit because I focus on helping them understand the concepts behind the material, rather than just rushing through problems. That deeper understanding leads to stronger performance on homework, tests, and in class overall.
I'm excited to help students who are struggling in math or physical science. These subjects can feel super tricky, but with the right guidance, some of these mysterious ideas can become totally concrete and intuitive. Some of the subjects I've tutored include: algebra, geometry, calculus, differential equations, linear algebra, mechanics, and electricity and magnetism. Please reach out if you have any questions and I look forward to working with you!
