I am an undergraduate sophomore at Cornell University studying computer science, with a focus on system architecture and the Python programming language. Through my coursework and research, I have gained strong foundations in programming, software design, and problem solving. I apply these skills in several research settings, including work on the Gemini Planet Imager with a Cornell professor, where I develop Python code used for the telescope and camera system, as well as projects with the Army Research Lab that similarly center on software development and data processing.
I have been teaching Python online for about three years, working primarily in one-on-one and small-group settings. In addition, I serve as the head of education for the Cornell Cybersecurity Club, where I help structure and lead instructional sessions for fellow students. These experiences have shown me how much a clear, supportive instructor can change a student’s confidence and performance, and they have reinforced how much I enjoy helping others succeed.
My tutoring approach is patient, structured, and hands-on. I like to start by understanding a student’s goals and current level, then break complex ideas into smaller, intuitive pieces, using examples and guided practice to reinforce each step. I encourage students to write and debug their own code during our sessions so they learn how to think through problems independently, not just follow a recipe. Whether a student is brand new to programming or looking to deepen their understanding, my goal is to create a collaborative environment where questions are welcome and progress feels both challenging and achievable.
