Hi, my name is Kaitlyn, and I’m a recent college graduate from Cornell University, where I studied Biology and Society on a pre-medical track. I began my tutoring journey in high school as a volunteer peer tutor, where I provided one-on-one sessions to students in various STEM subjects and led group AP exam review sessions. As someone who has often faced academic difficulties and relied on tutoring during my childhood, being a tutor was a very rewarding experience; it allowed me to provide the same support I once received to numerous bright students and watch their growth in subjects they were once struggling with.
This fulfilling experience led me to continue tutoring through college. I worked with Scholarskills Online Learning Center for a year to help elementary school students with reading, speaking, and writing deficiencies and create curriculum material to aid their improvement in these areas. I have also been an online tutor at GoPeer, Inc. for the past 4 years, teaching and reviewing practice questions with students of all grades and ages in math, reading, biology, chemistry, and SAT and adjusting learning plans based on each student's study strategies. Additionally, I have been a teaching assistant for a college biochemistry course for a year, where I review content, proctor written quizzes, and conduct oral quizzes for undergraduate students.
In my free time, I enjoy watching TV shows with my friends, listening to music, and bouldering.
