Genesis worked as a Consultant at The World Bank Group in Washington D.C. Her passion for policy analysis, law, and veteran affairs also led her to do a Congressional internship in Congresswoman Cheri Bustos's office in Illinois (IL-17). Genesis was the former Vice President of Communications in Cornell University's Graduate and Professional Student Assembly. Collaborating with the UN Habitat (United Nations Human Settlements Programme), Genesis was the Project Manager and Project Lead at Cornell University, School of Architecture, Art, and Planning (AAP). Genesis was a Public Policy Researcher for multiple professors at Cornell Brooks School.

With her passion for education and nonprofit management, Genesis has worked for an education nonprofit organization in Washington D.C. for 2 years (i.e. Youth for Understanding USA). Her interests in international development, immigration policy, and refugee resettlement led her to work in a local nonprofit for another 3 years (i.e. World Relief, an organization assists immigrants to settle down in the U.S.). As a Project Manager at Cornell AAP, Genesis led a first-ever global research project on surveying world executive leaders of local governments. This Cornell project was the world's first initiative on surveying global city leaders of more than 1,000 urban cities (drawn from the UN universe of urban agglomerations), representing 165 countries, in 23 languages.
