Teaching has always been my passion, and I love helping students build confidence and understanding in subjects that may feel overwhelming at first. I am a New York State-certified teacher in Students with Disabilities (Grades K-12) and General Education (Grades 1-6), and I am currently pursuing my TESOL certification to further expand my ability to support diverse learners. With years of experience as a special education teacher and co-teacher in high school Biology and Algebra, I specialize in breaking down complex concepts in a way that makes sense for each individual student. I know that no two students learn the same way, so I focus on making lessons accessible, engaging, and tailored to each learner’s strengths.
Beyond the classroom, I have extensive experience working with students in different settings. As a varsity tennis coach for six seasons and the head professional of a summer tennis program for eight years, I have worked with students of all ages and ability levels. Coaching has strengthened my ability to teach skills step-by-step, build confidence, and motivate students—all of which are essential in academic tutoring as well. Whether in sports or academics, I believe in fostering a growth mindset and helping students realize that they are capable of more than they think.
