Hi, I’m Joel! I graduated with honors with a Master’s degree in Economics, specializing in Mathematics and Finance. During my studies, I faced challenging courses, but engaging teaching methods, like interactive problem-solving and real-world applications, made complex concepts accessible. For example, in a tough econometrics class, my professor used live data analysis to enhance understanding. Inspired by this, I became a University Learning Assistant (ULA), helping students overcome academic hurdles.
Currently, as an Operations Analyst and tutor, I use my background in Mathematics and Economics to support students. I’ve worked with Italian students to improve their English and master calculus-based courses, tailoring my approach to meet individual needs. My goal is to create a supportive environment that fosters academic success and genuine interest in the subject.
From my academic journey, I learned the importance of mathematical thinking and problem-solving skills. Success in mathematics involves not just understanding concepts but developing a logical mindset. I aim to pass these skills on to my students, believing they are crucial for both academic and personal growth. I also value constructive feedback from students and parents, using it to improve my teaching and support each learner effectively.
