I have several years of experience teaching music to students of all ages and skill levels, from beginners learning to read notes to advanced performers preparing for recitals and auditions. My background includes formal training in clarinet, saxophone, piano and music theory, and I hold a Master's degree in Music. I take a flexible approach that combines structured exercises, theory instruction, and performance practice to help each student progress at their own pace while keeping lessons engaging and enjoyable.

I have taught in various settings, including private one-on-one lessons, small group workshops, and volunteer programs, working with children, teens, and adults. My lessons focus on developing technical skills, musical understanding, and personal expression, while building confidence and a lasting love for music. I emphasize clear goal-setting, helping students work toward recitals, exams, or personal milestones.

My goal as a music tutor is to create a supportive and motivating environment where students feel empowered to reach their musical potential, whether learning for personal enrichment or preparing for performance opportunities. I adapt each lesson to the student’s needs, combining fun, structure, and practical guidance to ensure consistent progress.

Clarinet

Clarinet

I have been playing the clarinet since 2006 and have experience teaching all levels, from beginners to advanced students. Over the years, I have performed in multiple ensembles and have received awards and a scholarship for my clarinet performance. I have also studied under a world-renowned clarinetist, gaining insights into both technical mastery and musical expression. My teaching focuses on building strong fundamentals while fostering a love for music and personal growth on the instrument.
Composition (Music)

Composition (Music)

My background in music composition comes from formal music study as well as practical experience working with written scores, arranging material, and developing musical ideas for performance settings. I have experience analyzing how melody, harmony, rhythm, and form work together, and I help students understand how to shape those elements into clear musical structure. When tutoring composition, I focus on helping students develop original ideas, organize phrases effectively, and make thoughtful choices about harmonic direction, pacing, and notation so that their written music communicates clearly and musically.
Ear Training

Ear Training

My background in ear training comes from years of formal music study, ensemble work, and applied musical practice where listening skills are essential to performance and instruction. Through my experience in music classes, rehearsals, and score preparation, I have developed the ability to identify intervals, chord qualities, rhythmic patterns, melodic contour, and pitch relationships by ear. I also use these skills when helping students strengthen intonation, recognize harmonic movement, and connect what they hear to written notation. When tutoring ear training, I focus on building listening accuracy step by step so students become more confident recognizing musical patterns, singing intervals, and understanding how ear training supports broader musicianship.
General Music

General Music

My background in general music comes from formal music study and practical experience across multiple areas of musicianship, including notation, rhythm, theory, listening skills, and performance preparation. I have worked with a wide range of musical material and understand how to explain core concepts clearly for students at different levels. When tutoring general music, I focus on helping students build a strong foundation by connecting musical vocabulary, reading skills, rhythmic understanding, and listening so they can approach new material with greater confidence and independence.
Music Production

Music Production

My background in music production includes experience recording, editing, and mixing audio for a variety of musical projects. I am familiar with digital audio workstations such as Ableton Live, Logic Pro, and FL Studio, and I help students understand how to use these tools to create professional-sounding tracks. When tutoring music production, I focus on teaching workflow strategies, effective use of effects and instruments, and techniques for arranging and mixing music so that students gain both technical skills and creative confidence in producing their own material.
Piano

Piano

I have experience teaching piano to beginner and intermediate students, focusing on building solid technique, proper posture, and finger independence. I help students develop reading skills, rhythm, and musical expression, while introducing them to a variety of repertoire that suits their interests and skill level. My approach is student-centered, encouraging consistent practice, fostering confidence at the keyboard, and helping each learner enjoy the process of making music while steadily progressing in their abilities.
Saxophone

Saxophone

I have experience teaching saxophone to beginner and advanced students, focusing on tone production, breath control, and proper finger technique. I help students develop music reading skills, articulation, phrasing, and expressive playing, while also incorporating exercises to strengthen sight-reading and improvisation abilities. My approach emphasizes building confidence, enjoying the instrument, and gradually developing the skills needed for both solo and ensemble performance.
Sight Singing

Sight Singing

I have experience teaching sight singing to students at various levels, helping them develop the ability to read and perform music accurately at first sight. I focus on pitch recognition, rhythm, intervals, and melodic contour, while connecting these skills to broader musicianship and ear training. My approach emphasizes consistent practice, gradual skill-building, and fostering confidence, so students can approach new music independently and with accuracy.
Voice (Music)

Voice (Music)

I have experience teaching voice to beginner and intermediate students, focusing on developing proper posture, breath support, pitch accuracy, and tone quality. I help students improve their sight-reading, phrasing, and musical expression, while introducing repertoire appropriate to their skill level and interests.
