I have a love of music and want to pass that on to others. I started playing the flute in Junior High School and shortly added the piccolo and tenor saxophone. In High School I added the alto saxophone and clarinet to my repertoire. Upon starting college I picked up the alto flute as well. I have a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education. In Brooklyn College I had the pleasure to study flute under the tutelage of Bernard Goldberg former principal flutist of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra and play Jazz under Grammy Award winning artist Arturo O'Farrill.

I approach teaching with the same gusto I have for playing. Music is fun and the learning should be as well. I find that my positive attitude can be contagious as I want the student to understand my love for music. If they feel the same, there is nothing that can stop them. Learning comes in various levels. We build on each success and the learning progresses. Included in the lessons are learning how to read the music and the corresponding fingering on the instrument(s). I also want my students to know how to care for their instruments and I walk them through how to properly put them together, take apart and clean. I believe in demonstrating how to do things and playing along as it helps a student learn the music and how to play.
