Hello! My name is Patti, and I’m a passionate New York State certified educator with a Master’s in Elementary Education, licensed to teach Pre-K through 6th grade. With 20 years of classroom experience, I’ve had the privilege of teaching a diverse range of students, from Pre-K to 6th grade, and have developed expertise in reading, writing, and specialty programs. My training in Integrated Arts and Literacy through the Arts allows me to bring creativity and critical thinking into every subject I teach.
In addition to classroom teaching, I offer personalized tutoring for K-6 students in reading and writing. I specialize in meeting individual needs, whether it's improving reading comprehension, enhancing writing skills, or building foundational language concepts. I utilize the Teachers College Writing Workshop model to help students find their voice and gain confidence in their writing. I also use Acadience, an evidence-based tool, to assess literacy progress and ensure that my instruction is targeted and effective.

As a college admissions coach, I guide high school students through the application process. From crafting standout essays to preparing for interviews, I help students present their best selves. I assist in identifying scholarship opportunities and securing grants, ensuring they take full advantage of all their options. My goal is to help students create compelling applications that not only meet the requirements but also highlight their strengths and passions, making them stand out in a competitive admissions process.

Above all, I am committed to empowering students to reach their full potential, both academically and personally.

Career Development

My career journey has been anything but conventional, yet it has provided me with invaluable experiences that make me uniquely qualified to tutor others in career development. With a solid foundation in the service industry and as an entrepreneur who successfully started and grew my own business, I bring a practical, hands-on approach to helping individuals navigate their career paths. My personal journey has not only shaped my own professional development but also deepened my understanding of how to mentor others as they pursue meaningful career growth. Early in my career, I gained extensive experience in the service industry, where I developed essential skills in customer service, team management, and communication. Working in fast-paced, high-pressure environments taught me the importance of adaptability, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills—core competencies that are vital for anyone seeking to excel in their career. Through these roles, I mentored and trained colleagues, providing guidance on everything from handling customer inquiries to improving time management. These experiences gave me the foundation for understanding how individuals can develop transferable skills that set them up for success, whether in the service industry or any other field. Building upon this knowledge, I took the bold step of starting my own business and creating my own brand. Navigating the challenges of entrepreneurship—such as managing finances, marketing, networking, and scaling operations—further honed my career development expertise. I became deeply familiar with the need for strategic planning, self-discipline, and continuous learning. I learned firsthand the importance of career resilience and the mindset required to adapt, grow, and succeed in an ever-changing landscape. These lessons are not only applicable to my own journey but are critical for individuals looking to advance their careers or make a transition into a new field. As a tutor in career development, I leverage my own experiences to help others identif
