While at St. John's University, I participated in the STEP program, tutoring high school students in Physics. I have since been working for major companies, conducting in-home private tutoring sessions in Physics and Math, ranging from middle school to college level. This one-on-one approach affords me the opportunity to tune right in to the individual student's needs. The Act Math exam covers a multitude of math topics that I have studied through the 11th Grade. Having graduated from The Bronx High School of Science, and then earning my Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from St. John's University with an overall GPA of 3.47, I am familiar with the wide range of topics and its applications which the Math Act exam tests. I am thorough, patient, and knowledgeable, and use a wide variety of teaching techniques which I acquired from tutoring for a large educational firm.

I am also familiar with the New York Regents requirements, having attended The Bronx High School of Science, from which I graduated in 2009. I am patient, thorough, and resourceful, and will find many ways of explaining concepts in math and physics so that my my students gain a good understanding of the work, thereby achieving success.

Majoring in Physics in college, I was required a to take a heavy cncentration of courses in Mathematics, including University Calculus I, II, III, as well as Differential Equations. My skills in Mathematics have given me the expertise to tutor math for a major educational firm, from Middle School grades through Pre-Calculus, and I have been successful in this endeavor. I am patient and caring, and will provide a good learning construct for the student.

During my time at the Bronx high school of Science, and at St. John's University, I took many courses in math, including Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, and Calculus. Most of these math courses dealt with some form of probability. The course that dealt with it the most was Algebra 2. This course allowed me to gain the knowledge of many aspects of probability, including combinations, permutations, and the counting principle. During my time as a tutor I have been able to pass this knowledge on to many students, and I plan to pass it on to many more in the future.

Great Calculus tutor

My son has been meeting with Robert every other day to work on Calculus. We tried out several tutors to pick a tutor that he can meet continuously for his Calculus series and Physics. Robert was the one he chose. He says Robert explains things in a way that is very easy to understand for people who are not strong in math. I listened to a couple of lesson recordings and I liked the fact that he was asking probing questions to encourage one's own thinking instead of just doing one-way explanations.

Thorough and Helpful
