I have been a peer career coach at Hamilton College for the past four years, teaching, advising, and editing job application materials for college students in all industries. I taught workshops on resumes, cover letters, interviewing, and networking. I also advise on and edit resumes, cover letters, and networking emails. My experience is primarily with college students and entry-level/internship applications. I love to work with students to figure out their long-term goals and help them plan to get there!

In addition to career-related skills, I am a skilled editor of fiction, essays, and more. I majored in Creative Writing at Hamilton, was the Head Prose Board editor for our art and literature magazine, and was an editorial intern at Red Hen Press. Career Development

I have three years of experience at the Hamilton College Career Center advising college students on career-related skills and editing job application materials (resume, cover letter, networking emails). I sit down one-on-one with students and have mostly experience with college-level, entry-level, graduate school/ PhD applications, and internship materials. I have also worked with some mid-level applicants. For industry-specific advice, I have specialized knowledge in book publishing and more knowledge in the humanities, non-profit, and media sectors.

As a creative writing major, I have spent four years of college writing and providing workshop groups with detailed constructive feedback. I am also knowledgeable about the publishing industry (both magazines and book publishing) and can help writers tailor their pieces for publication. I was also the Head Prose editor for the Hamilton College art and literature magazine, and am well-versed in both publishing and lit magazine acceptances. My own work, a co-authored novel at around 50,000 words, won the senior thesis prize and was given a preliminary print run. I also won the George A. Watrous Literary prize for a short story I wrote called Digesting Love.

I am a graduating senior at Hamilton College with an English Creative Writing degree. Just for your reference, I never actually took the SAT because of COVID cancellations; however, I did have a perfect PSAT English score. I am the Head Editor for the prose board for Red Weather art and literature magazine, and was the president of Know Thy Shelf, Hamilton College's contemporary book club.

He provided insightful feedback on my interview skills and balanced mock interview practice with thoughtful discussions about overall strategy. I appreciated how he highlighted my strengths, which was the content of my story, while at the same time offering constructive, actionable suggestions for improvement, in my case I needed to work on reducing pauses and filler words. Together, we refined my “elevator pitch” and approaches to common opening interview questions.
