Hi, I'm Hannah! I graduated cum laude with a Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical Engineering. I recently also graduated with my Master's of Science in Mechanical Engineering, with a concentration in materials. My coursework, as well as my extracurriculars, research experiences, and internships, all strengthened my fundamental STEM skills. I was a member of my college's robotics team (Binghamton University Mars Rover Team), and I was an administrative member of the same college's rocketry team (Chief Scientist of AeroBing Rocketry Research Group). As Chief Scientist, I trained many people in the group to use relevant software, and taught much of the basics of rocketry (i.e., physics of rocketry, aerodynamics, physics of propulsion). I was also a member of Pi Tau Sigma, the mechanical engineering honor society. In addition, I interned for three summers at Brookhaven National Lab, where I gained professional experience with applying the STEM skills learned in a classroom, such as (but not limited to) math, physics, computer-aided design, and finite element analysis.
My most influential experiences with my professors and teachers were office hours, where I could come with prepared questions and have a guided conversation about what I needed help with, resulting in more tailored instruction. I aim to incorporate that into my lessons. In the past few years, I have tutored many students for their NYS Regents Exams, most notably for chemistry and physics. I have also assisted many students in high school level math courses, such as Algebra I/II and Precalculus. Since graduating and mastering fundamental courses in Mechanical Engineering, such as Engineering Materials, Solid Mechanics, and Fluid Mechanics, in both classroom and professional settings, I am also excited to tutor for those college subjects too.
