My name is Arianne and I’m an undergraduate student at the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at NYU. I have quite a bit of experience working with young children: I’ve tutored children (ages 4-7) in reading, writing, arithmetic, and science. I’ve also worked at a local daycare and summer camp, specializing in introducing children (ages 2-10) to new experiences (sports, art, or meditation). I was a part of the National Honor Society at my high school (The Bronx High School of Science) and have tutored underclassmen there as well, particularly in English and Literature.
I’ve also been through the college process fairly recently and am a great resource for high schoolers interested in getting into high ranking colleges. I can offer feedback, insight, and advice about the process as a whole, but more specifically with the personal statement and supplements.
What makes me an excellent resource for those who need help with writing or literature as a whole is the time that I spent on Bronx Science’s award winning newspaper, the Science Survey. Not only did I spend three years being a part of this workshop class, but I rose through the ranks and eventually became an Editor in Chief. I wrote mainly editorial pieces about the world around me and issues that need more attention, including an article on the history of Guyana, my home country, which reached an audience of nearly 10,000 readers.
