For several years, I have also taught French summer school courses, working with students across multiple proficiency levels who were struggling academically and needed additional support.
I hold two Master's and a Bachelor's degree from universities in Germany and France. My academic and professional experiences have given me extensive exposure to authentic French language and culture, which I love to incorporate into my lessons. As an instructor, I combine conversation, pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, reading, listening, and authentic materials and adapt lessons to the individual student according to their needs and goals.
My teaching philosophy is that students learn best when they feel comfortable, supported, and actively involved in the learning process. I also believe students learn best from a teacher who truly loves what they teach - and that is definitely me!
Language lessons should be relevant and engaging, connecting French to students' interests and real-life situations whenever possible. The ultimate goal is to use the language!
That doesn't necessarily mean reaching fluency. It means being able to use French in little real-life situations like: ordering at a restaurant, asking for directions, asking for help, or simply talking about your life.
Those moments make learning a language meaningful and rewarding.
