College professor with experience teaching Portuguese and Spanish

Hello, everyone!

I have over seven years of experience teaching Portuguese at the college and high school levels, both as a foreign/second language and as a heritage language. An experienced instructor, I have taught Portuguese at Brown University, Middlebury College, West Point, and at a public high school in Massachusetts. Whether you are a complete beginner or have an advanced level of fluency, I can definitely help you on your journey to improving your Portuguese skills!

Besides teaching Portuguese, I'm qualified to teach Spanish from the novice to intermediate levels and taught it at a high school for two years.

I hold a PhD and master's in Portuguese and Brazilian studies from Brown University as well as a bachelor's in sociology and political science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a master's in Latin American studies from the same university.

Additionally, I have spent over a year in Brazil for my graduate research and ten months in Argentina for undergraduate study abroad, so I have significant on-the-ground experience for both Portuguese and Spanish.
