In high school, I actually had a math tutor to help prepare me for exams. I was able to experience first hand some techniques a good tutor can use in order to help their students achieve their fullest potential. I think it is important to find multiple ways to teach a subject and find the method that works best for the individual student.
I am familiar with the common core state standards for English and reading grades k-5th grade. I know which skills students are required to master and have found engaging methods to teach these skills.
I am a Teacher of the Deaf, currently working at Rochester School for the Deaf. I interact with people who are Deaf and teach children who use ASL as their primary method of communication on a daily basis.
