Hi, my name is Adrienne! I'm currently a student in the BS/MS Physician Assistant program at Hofstra University. I've always had a passion for both sciences and helping others to learn, which led me to tutoring. I graduated from the British International School of Boston with a 4.73 GPA out of 5, completing the International Baccalaureate(IB) program with Higher level Chemistry, Biology, and Math as well as Standard level English, French and Psychology. Taking the IB program not only strengthened my academic understanding, but also developed effective study habits, time management skills, and the ability break down complex concepts.

During my time in high school, I was the co-president and editor of the Bulldog Inquirer Newspaper Club, where I helped students refine their writing as well as help develop their voices. Furthermore, I was also a peer mentor for 2 years where I helped middle school students navigate their academic year. This included both academic help on assignments, as well as guidance in terms of time management and study habits.

My tutoring approach focuses on active recall and spaced repetition - both of which I personally find the most effective for myself and students I've worked with. This means that I would encourage students to actively recall information from past sessions in addition to teaching new material. This helps strengthen long-term retention and ensure understanding. Additionally, I found that incorporating mind mapping and visual aids are effective in helping students to draw connections between concepts - especially for science subjects.

Whether I'm helping a student grasp a difficult concept, review material for an exam, or organize a study schedule, I hope to make learning feeling engaging and manageable. I'm available to tutor weekly, with more flexibility on the weekends.
