I am a marine biology researcher with over 10 years of experience tutoring K–12 students, with subject-level expertise in AP Biology, AP Environmental Science, and Earth Science. Throughout my years of teaching, I’ve aimed to share my passion for biology and the environment through engaging, often visual approaches that help break down complex concepts. I frequently incorporate examples from my own research when relevant, which I’ve found keeps students interested and helps them connect theory to real-world applications.
I am a patient tutor with experience working with students of all ages, learning styles, and backgrounds, and I am bilingual in English and Spanish. I enjoy getting to know each student’s interests and tailoring lessons accordingly to maintain engagement and curiosity.
As an international ocean sustainability researcher, I have worked in the U.S., Chile, South Africa, and across Europe on a range of marine biology and ocean management issues. I hold a Bachelor’s degree with honors from Grinnell College and a Master of Science from Stockholm University. My work has been supported by several scholarships and grants, including a Fulbright fellowship.
