I am a recent graduate from the State University of New York at Buffalo, with a Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology (GPA 3.7 overall, 3.8 major) and advanced coursework in microbiology, molecular biology, immunology, and tissue culture. In addition to my academic background, I have over two years of hands-on research experience in a medical school laboratory, where I worked independently on a cancer biology project involving gene expression analysis, experimental design, data interpretation, and scientific communication. My laboratory experience allows me to tutor biology, microbiology, molecular biology, genetics, and related life science courses with a focus on clarity and applications of the concepts presented.
I also have formal, practical teaching experience as a Teaching Assistant for Biomedical Microbiology at the University at Buffalo., I worked with undergraduate students in both classroom and laboratory settings, guiding them through microbiological techniques, laboratory safety, and experimental design. I evaluated lab reports and provided detailed feedback, helping students improve their understanding and scientific writing skills. My teaching experience has primarily been with college-level students, but I am comfortable adapting my approach to high school students, including those in honors or AP science courses.
Whether a student needs help with homework, exam preparation, lab reports, or building confidence in science, I aim to create a supportive and structured learning environment that helps them succeed.
In my free time, I enjoy live music, philosophy, and engaging in mutual aid and DIY projects in my community. Please reach out if you have any questions or think I might be able to help you in your journey towards academic success!
