I am a certified New York City educator with over a decade of experience teaching middle school mathematics and special education. I hold dual certification in both Special Education and Mathematics and have extensive training in Restorative Practices, Therapeutic Crisis Intervention, and Culturally Responsive-Sustaining Education. I currently serve as a Special Education Math Teacher and Dean at Wagner Middle School, where I also lead the school’s Equity Team and provide professional development for over 100 staff members.
My tutoring and teaching approach is rooted in the belief that every student is capable of success when given the right tools, support, and encouragement. I specialize in helping students strengthen foundational math skills, close learning gaps, and build confidence in problem-solving. Whether working with students who need targeted intervention or those preparing for advanced coursework, I use personalized strategies that integrate visual models, real-world applications, and student voice to make learning meaningful and engaging.
Over the years, I have supported learners from grades 5 through 10 in both one-on-one and small-group settings. My students often describe me as patient, relatable, and motivating. I take pride in helping students not only improve their grades but also see themselves as capable thinkers and problem solvers. My goal is always to create a supportive environment where students feel safe to take risks, make mistakes, and grow.
