With over 20 years of experience in education, I help students build confidence, strengthen academic skills, and reach meaningful goals through individualized support and collaborative learning. I have worked with learners from early childhood through adulthood across subjects, including English, reading, writing, French, Spanish, math, science, social studies, executive function support, and college admissions coaching.

I also specialize in standardized test preparation and academic planning. My experience includes the SAT, ACT, PSAT, SSAT, ISEE, HSPT, TOEFL, GRE, Praxis exams, AP exams, Regents, SOLs, MCAS, and other placement and entrance exams. Over the years, I have developed and led programs focused on reading comprehension, writing, critical thinking, and effective test-taking strategies.

Beyond subject tutoring, I have extensive experience guiding students through private school and college admissions essays, executive functioning challenges, and individualized learning needs, including support for students with IEP and 504 accommodations. I work closely with students and families to create practical, goal-oriented approaches that encourage growth and independence.

I have presented on pedagogy, vocabulary instruction, and learning strategies at professional conferences, including the National Curriculum Network Conference and the American Association of Teachers of French Conference. My work has also been featured in educational blogs, podcasts, and media focused on student achievement.

In addition to education, I am a published author of children’s books centered on social-emotional learning and interpersonal growth. My broader writing experience includes creative, instructional, and academic content.

My approach to tutoring is supportive, adaptable, and student-centered. I believe effective instruction should help students improve academically while building confidence, organization, and critical thinking skills for long-term success.

Outstanding!!

My daughter is in 6th grade and has ADD she struggles with retaining info and needed someone patient. Megan was a godsend because fir the first time looking at schoolwork my daughter was engaged and excited to find out she was capable of not failing her science project. Megan gave her ideas, and talked her through them. She was very patient and my daughter who is very she felt comfortable immediately. Btw- she wants Megan to tutor her on every subject! Lol Thanks do much! Will definitely hire her again.

Knowledgeable and patient instructor

I really appreciate Megan's assistance with my grandson's needs in Mathematics and Spanish. His grades have improved with her services and he know is more confident in asking his instructors questions before falling too behind. I would definitely recommend her for her broad knowledge as well as her professional demeanor that encourages students and helps them navigate new instructional material.

Great match for my daughter

Miel enjoys learning with Megan. She expresses how good of a teacher she is. Megan has challenged her with math and Miel loves the challenges. I think she likes when things doesn't come that easily but she is encouraged that she will get there. Megan seems to be a good fit for Miel and her practices.

Ms. Megan took the time to really see what I needed.

Ms. Megan is very pleasant and I see that she cares about the students she is tutoring. I will use her until I pass my SPED exam, as I will try to send students her way.

An Excellent Teacher

Megan is a most patient yet firm teacher with an excellent approach to teaching. Although, she tutors our 2 daughters in English, she performed an initial assessment of our daughters in several subject areas in order to determine our their aptitude. CERTAINLY A KEEPER!!!
