I have several years of tutoring experience, particularly in 1:1 settings. I work best with motivated high school and college levels students. Over the years, I've tutored the following topics: Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Trig, Geometry, Precalculus, Calculus, Chemistry 101, and Physics Mechanics. To earn my degree, I've also taken coursework in: Linear Algebra, Analysis, Differential Equations, Probability, and Applied Numerical Methods. I work regularly with SQL and R in my day-to-day work, and received a 2270 on my SAT's (800 Reading, 750 Writing, 720 Mathematics).
When working with students, I first assess the student's current level of understanding in order to identify the 'gap' that's preventing them from moving forward. I then work on solidifying that gap by teaching the relevant concepts. I then test for understanding by having students solve similar, but different problems, to ensure they understand the material. I aim to encourage students and help them build confidence.
