About Patrick

Bio

I have been passionate about helping others learn since high school where I would help friends and classmates study and prepare for exams. This continued through college and included being employed by the college as a notetaker, providing my class notes to other students so they could focus on the lesson and have proper notes after. Throughout my career I have always looked for opportunities to mentor others and teach them anything I knew.

I possess a Bachelor of Technology with a major in Network Administration and a minor in Information Security and Assurance. I have over twelve years experience including: IT Help Desk, Systems Technician, Network Administrator, IT Manager, and Senior Information Security Consultant. I possess the following certifications: CISSP, Security+, CMMC-AB RP, Network+, A+.

In each of my roles it was critical for me to be able to educate clients and employees of the businesses I worked with. Each individual has a varying level of understanding regarding IT, often times having none. This requires identifying where the edge of their knowledge is and picking up from there.

I have presented to executives and at conferences. I have helped individuals study for industry certifications with passing results. I am a Junior Achievement volunteer, teaching their curriculum in K-12 classrooms. I volunteer my time through a local tech organization to speak with college students about IT career paths.

-----

My tutoring approach is to understand where students knowledge ends and where they would like it to expand to. I will discover how each student learns best and develop a plan that fits their unique needs. Everybody learns in different ways and at different paces.
