Math has been a passion of mine since I was a kid! In high school, I asked to be bumped a year ahead in math. I’m glad I did, because it exposed me to difficult concepts and forced me to work hard. At Queens College, CUNY, I chose to pursue a bachelor’s degree in math, then I followed up with a master’s degree in math.
While in college in 2018, I began my tutoring career. Since then, I have worked on all subjects from elementary school math to pre-calculus with many students. Many of my students requested I work with them weekly, and some I have worked with for years. Working one-on-one, I would help my students understand concepts through teaching them in a basic manner. I feel that math shouldn’t be made over-complicated. If you can relay the message by drawing a diagram or explaining why a formula makes sense logically, students will not only understand it easier but may actually come to like it! I don’t teach memorization; I teach how to think. My sessions are a judgement-free zone where improving knowledge and shedding fear are my main objectives. No one should have to struggle in their education. Algebra 1 & 2 and geometry are subjects that most students have asked help for, and I have provided much guidance in these areas. I am open to helping you in any area of math from elementary to high school. If my description sounds right for you, book your first call and let's get to work!
