I have a Ph.D. in cognitive neuroscience from UCLA and five years of university teaching experience, with online and in-person tutoring available in neuroscience, psychology, research methods, statistics, and scientific/research writing.
I completed my doctoral training at the Cognitive Neuroscience Ph.D. Program at UCLA’s Department of Psychology, where I taught neuroscience, psychology, and research methods. My teaching in neuroscience and psychology covered topics including: cognitive neuroscience; behavioral neuroscience; sensory neuroscience; clinical neuroscience; affective neuroscience; motor neuroscience; developmental neuroscience; cellular neuroscience; neuroanatomy; psychopharmacology; neuroendocrinology; circadian/sleep neuroscience; and the psychology and biology of aging. In research methods, I taught experimental design, statistical methods, interpreting results, and scientific writing and reporting. Before my Ph.D., I taught cognitive psychology for two years while earning my B.A. at Rutgers University–New Brunswick, where I double majored in Psychology and Philosophy. I have taught in classroom, lecture hall, and one-on-one settings, both in-person and online.
Areas of instruction include: neuroscience; psychology; research methods and experimental design; statistics and SPSS; scientific/research writing; literature review and search; interpreting and critically evaluating research papers.
I also have over ten years of research experience in neuroscience, psychology, and biological psychiatry, with a variety of scientific publications. This allows me to help students not only understand course material, but also develop the skills needed to read, evaluate, interpret, and communicate scientific research.
My approach is to make complex subject matter clear, engaging, and accessible to students at all levels of study. Sessions are tailored to each student's coursework and goals.
