Hi! I have a BA and MA in English with a minor in Secondary Education from St. John's University in NYC. I have been an English teacher for fifteen years. Ten of those years have been as a HS English teacher and the past five have been as a professor of English Composition and Interpersonal Communication. The past three years, I have been nominated by the student body for our commencement ceremony's "Professor of the Year" Award and that has ben an honor. I hold certifications in online instruction and diversifying instruction methods in an online setting. Most recently, I have been a volunteer for The College Essay Guy's Matchlighters Scholars. I have worked with students from various backgrounds and financial situations to create their college personal statements. I typically work with students ages 14-22. I teach students the four foundational academic essays- Research Paper, Descriptive, Persuasive, and Narrative. I teach Creative Writing as well. In addition I teach Literary Analysis. I help students find their voice and elevate their writing. I teach in the traditional classroom setting and online in a 1:1 in teams or zoom.
