Hi, I’m Michael. I have been fortunate to be a tutor now for about five years. I have tutored in math (mostly high school and some college), especially in Algebra. I feel that I would also do great in tutoring Calculus (high school or college level), SAT math, and actuarial math. Thankfully, my students normally notice dramatic improvements after working with me, and have given me great feedback as well.

As a tutor, I understand the demand in this profession for lots of patience, as well as phenomenal communication and presentation skills. I am also careful to make sure to not over-teach and confuse the student, and I provide tips on how to most efficiently study the material as well as which information is probably most crucial for their exams/regents/AP exams. I am happy to give extra work and guidance as needed, while having the patience all the while to explain and explain again as clearly as possible as needed.
Ever since elementary school others have known about my love of and successes in math. It was my most enjoyable and best subject in school. I got 90s averages for math in school, got in the 90s for both Algebra regents, as well as a 780 math sub score in the SAT (1490 superscore), and a 5 on my AP Calculus BC exam. I received the Advanced Regents Diploma with Honors upon graduating, and finished in the top 50 of my graduating class out of nearly 1000 students in Forest Hills High School (Queens, NYC) with a 99 GPA. On top of that, I have been fortunate to graduate as an Actuarial Science major from St. John’s University in Queens (after receiving their full scholarship) with a 3.93 GPA. I also passed four SOA actuarial exams (P, FM, FAM, ASTAM) and an SOA module. Something interesting about me is that I love to learn the Talmud in depth, and I have helped author a book on Jewish law based on the Talmud.
