Hi, I’m Reffat. It’s wonderful to meet you! I’m a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, where I earned my master’s degree in computational science, and I also double-majored in economics and physics during my undergrad. My heart lies in applied mathematics, which ties all these fields together. In addition to being a data scientist who loves to help people master data science and data analytics concepts, I help students at all levels build confidence and mastery in math.

I specialize in helping students prepare for the math portion of various exams and standardized tests like the SHSAT, SAT, ACT, and GRE, as well as in subjects like Algebra, Geometry, and Pre-calculus. My journey in math started at the Bronx High School of Science, where I realized just how valuable one-on-one tutoring can be for excelling on the SHSAT.

I kicked off my tutoring career back in 2011 at Khan’s Tutorial, where I had the chance to work with students both in group settings of 20 students and one-on-one for the math section of the SHSAT and for grades 1 to 10. I was part of a team that helped over 135 students get into specialized high schools! I also helped my own siblings gain acceptance to Stuyvesant High School and the Bronx High School of Science with a personalized approach to tackling different math challenges.

After graduating, I continued to assist students in preparing for the math sections of standardized tests from grades 3 through high school. I’m really excited about the possibility of working with you and helping you achieve your goals. Please feel free to message with any questions!
