I am a medical graduate with experience in one-to-one tutoring as well as group facilitation. I am bilingual; fluent in both English and Spanish and have worked with many students where English is their second language.
I am passionate about helping students build confidence and understanding in the materials they are learning. In undergrad and medical school, I developed a strong foundation in anatomy, physiology, and the biological sciences through years of rigorous coursework, laboratory study, and clinical training. I also enjoy tutoring pre-algebra and helping students strengthen their math skills. Pre-algebra was the class that made me more confident in my own math skills when I entered high school and I hope to be able to help students achieve that same confidence and prepare them for when they encounter a more challenging math class.
Whether you are preparing for an exam, catching up in class, or looking to get ahead, I strive to make my sessions engaging, supportive, and tailored to your individual learning style.
My tutoring approach focuses on patience, encouragement, and active learning. I have found that students learn best when they understand the "why" behind concepts rather than just memorizing facts and equations. I break down challenging topics and turn them into manageable and less intimidating steps. I try to use real-world examples whenever possible and adjust my methods to meet each student's needs. My focus is not just good grade and test performance but also to help students become independent, confident learners who feel comfortable asking questions and tackling new challenges.
I look forward to working with you and helping you reach your academic goals!

Approved Subjects

Algebra 1

Algebra 1

I enjoy helping students develop confidence by breaking down complex concepts into easy-to-understand steps. As someone who has experience studying advanced mathematics and sciences, I understand the importance of building a strong foundation in these subjects. I tailor each lesson to the student's individual learning style and needs. I encourage students to ask questions, work through problems together, and develop problem-solving skills they can use independently. I use the teach-back method often to make sure my student fully understands the concept before moving on. My goal is for the student to feel more confident walking into class or an exam while also eliminating any fear of asking for help.
Anatomy

Anatomy

As a medical school graduate, I have advanced training in human anatomy and deep understanding of how the body is structured. My expertise includes gross anatomy, musculoskeletal anatomy, histology, and organ system based anatomy. I am able to make complex anatomical concepts into clear and simpler lessons that are personalized to each student's learning style. Whether you are preparing for an basic anatomy course, exam, or medical training, I can help you develop a strong foundation and confidence in understanding the human body.
Physiology

Physiology

I am a medical graduate with extensive training in human physiology. I have studied the complex mechanisms of each of the major organ systems. I have developed a strong foundation in connecting physiological concepts to clinical practice and disease processes. I specialize in making physiology topics into understandable concepts not only for patients but also students. I use visual explanations, real-world examples, and high-yield study strategies. My goal is to help students feel confident in their understanding of these physiological concepts and to help them develop critical thinking skills needed for future exams.
Prealgebra

Prealgebra

I specialize in helping students build a strong foundation in pre-algebra by making math concepts approachable and easier to understand. My expertise includes solving equations, working with fractions, decimals, percentages, ratios, proportions, integers, expressions, and foundational problem-solving skills. I focus on helping the student not only understand the problem but also build up their confidence with a supportive and patient learning environment. I make sure my teaching methods are personalized based on each students specific learning needs, whether that be visual, verbal, hands-on, game-play, or a mixture of all four.
