Bio

Hi there! I'm Tiffany, and I am a current fourth-year medical student at William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine. I hold a B.S. in forensic science and an M.S. in physiology. I have been a private tutor for over 10 years in addition to working as a tutor and teaching assistant on campus. I love being able to help students make connections between concepts and have the confidence to solve problems on future homework assignments and assessments.

As a medical student, I have maintained a high degree of scholarship as evidenced by ranking in the top quartile of my class. In addition, I passed both Step 1 and Level 1 on the first attempt, scored 263 on Step 2 and 728 on Level 2 (98th percentile), and scored between 90-98th percentile on each COMAT subject exam.

For high school and undergraduate students, I specialize in general chemistry, chemistry for non-science majors, and analytical chemistry. I have experience in test preparation for both AP Biology and AP Chemistry.

For elementary and middle school age children, I have experience tutoring math, reading and writing skills, and science. I can assign extra work for students to complete in order to solidify their understanding of key concepts, and am able to provide feedback to both the parent and the student through progress reports and assessments. It is important to me that anyone I tutor has a complete understanding of a concept before moving on and building upon said concept.

I prefer to tutor at a library or other public place if in person, or online through Wyzant. As a courtesy, a cancellation fee will be assessed if the student is more than 15 minutes late for a scheduled lesson.

I look forward to communicating with you and helping you or your child succeed!

Approved Subjects

Algebra 1

Algebra 1

Algebra 1 is the first real stepping stone of higher mathematics. It is imperative to build a strong foundation in this subject in order to have success in higher mathematics. By introducing multiple ways to approach algebraic problems, I am able to better help students make vital conceptual connections.
Algebra 2

Algebra 2

Algebra 2 builds upon the skills learned in algebra 1. I strive to help students connect concepts learned in previous courses, and apply them to new ideas. I earned an A in the course when I took it and built upon those skills in higher level high school math courses, such as AP calculus.
Anatomy

Anatomy

While attending the University of Tampa, I served as a teaching assistant for 2 years for Comparative Vertebrate Anatomy. I have also studied human anatomy in the clinical anatomy and medical school settings. I have extensive knowledge in applying classroom skills to the anatomy lab, and can help you hone your study techniques for success!
Biology

Biology

As a medical student I have an excellent working knowledge of biology at the organism and cell levels. I have experience tutoring both honors-level and AP-level biology courses for high school, as well as several biology courses for the undergraduate level.
Chemistry

Chemistry

I have a degree in forensic science, which required extensive coursework in chemistry. I also have experience with high school-level chemistry and AP chemistry. I specialize and in general and analytical chemistries.
Elementary Math

Elementary Math

Elementary math is the first stepping stone to understanding mathematics as a whole. By building a strong foundation in the basic concepts of math, students are able to build upon their knowledge. I have received A's in all of my high school honors math classes, which include algebra 2, geometry, statistics, and AP calculus AB. Previous students of mine have more confidence when practicing their math skills, which has been shown by high grades on school assessments.
Elementary Science

Elementary Science

I am currently a forensic science major at the University of Tampa. I believe that establishing a strong scientific background in elementary school enables a student to thrive in higher level courses, and gets them excited about the field in general. I have taken both honors and AP level science courses, which include biology, chemistry, physics, and anatomy, and have had As in all, in addition to passing the AP tests.
Physical Science

Physical Science

I am working toward my degree in forensic science, and have completed extensive coursework in the sciences, including but not limited to: inorganic and organic chemistries, physical chemistry, and physics. My experience in these courses allows me to have a complete understanding of the material covered in physical science courses.
Prealgebra

Prealgebra

I have taken and received A's in pre-algebra. By mastering pre-algebra, I have been able to continue my studies in higher level mathematics. I have tutored students in pre-algebra and they have succeeded in their classes.

Very knowledge and awesome

Tiffany was a great tutor and on time. Tiffany also even gave me a few tips on studying as well. Some of the stuff we talked about was moles to grams conversion, neutrons, protons, and electrons, as well as the periodic table. Will be going back to her for any more tutoring I need.
