I have an MFA in Creative Writing from Sarah Lawrence College, one of the top writing programs in the country. As a recent graduate, I am an avid reader and writer. At Huntington Learning Center, I've helped students with SAT as well as common core preparation. I've also worked at a pre-school, day center for adults with disabilities, and a middle school where I taught a creative writing elective as a volunteer. During my undergraduate studies, I took social science and Italian courses. Therefore, I am also proficient in these subjects. Dance is also one of my specialties, as I attended a performing arts high school where this was my major.
I love to help children and young adults grow into confident, intelligent and successful people. I promote individuality and have patience with my students. I view everyone as unique. I like to help with reading, writing and artistic skills. I think every person has a dream, no matter their age, and I want my students to work to their fullest potential so that they can fulfill their dreams. At Sarah Lawrence all students were treated with respect. I respect my students and want to see them prosper.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
As a ballet, modern, tap, and jazz dancer who graduated from LaGuardia High School in Manhattan, I began studying Latin Ballroom during college at SUNY Buffalo. During my time at SUNY Buffalo, I was part of the Latin Ballroom Dance team. We did many performances and won competitions. I was one of their main dancers. I also have experience teaching dance in studios throughout NYC.
I have a degree in early childhood and a master's degree in creative writing. I have taught middle school creative writing and have experience tutoring common core.
I am proficient in speaking, reading and writing in Italian. Not only did I grow up speaking the language, but I've lived in Italy several times. I studied Italian for eleven years and majored in it at The University at Buffalo.
As a tutor at a local branch of nationally recognized tutoring center I taught phonics to children who were preparing for their common core exam. I have helped children understand and pronounce words correctly. We put letters together and let the children sound them out. We also read passages and answered phonics based questions.
I have my master's degree in creative writing. At Sarah Lawrence College I performed readings in front of crowds. I have given speeches and taken courses in college where I had to give presentations. At Sarah Lawrence, 90% of my grade consisted of speaking during class.
