I hold an MFA in Creative Writing from Sarah Lawrence College, one of the top writing programs in the country, and am a certified teacher. I graduated with my MEd in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from The City College of New York. I am a published writer who is offering my tutoring services. My specialties are ELA, ENL, and helping students write papers or applications to colleges, scholarship programs, medical and law school, and more. As an English professor, I taught various essay formats. For several years, I helped a Georgetown University doctoral student write her thesis, research, and writing assignments. I also assisted students compose essays for specialized high schools, colleges, medical residencies, law schools, and advanced degree programs. I am proud to say that my students were accepted. Furthermore, I am a trained dancer who attended LaGuardia High School and have experience training students for talent auditions.
At Huntington Learning Center, I helped students with SAT as well as common core test preparation. I've also worked at a pre-school, day center for adults with disabilities, and a middle school where I taught a creative writing elective as a volunteer. During my undergraduate studies, I took social science and Italian courses. Therefore, I am also proficient in these subjects. Dance is also one of my specialties, as I attended a performing arts high school where this was my major.
I love to help children and young adults grow into confident, intelligent and successful people. I promote individuality and have patience with my students. I view everyone as unique. I like to help with reading, writing and artistic skills. I think every person has a dream, no matter their age, and I want my students to work to their fullest potential so that they can fulfill their dreams. At Sarah Lawrence all students were treated with respect. I respect my students and want to see them prosper.
