Hi! I'm John and have been a music teacher since 2007.

I teach guitar for all levels, beginner to advanced and all ages, and piano for beginner and intermediate levels for all ages. After hearing Guns n Roses when I was 10 years old I was inspired to play guitar and have not stopped playing since. I play and teach metal, shred, rock, blues guitar, and, classical pieces such as Bach or Mozart on piano. I graduated with a BA in music from Sul Ross State University and took a course at the famous Musicians Institute in Hollywood, CA. I also studied under the famous Rusty Cooley.

I've been teaching since 2007 and have taught private students and groups of students up to 5. The organizations I've worked for range from my own business to companies that teach out of homes to a music school that I still work for virtually. At some of these organizations, I participated in recitals for my students and accompanied them on stage who helped set up the recitals. I truly believe that music is nothing but a positive force for all students and I enjoy watching my students progress musically.

I keep the lessons fun by teaching the basics such as scales, theory, etc along with songs and styles the student is interested in. The typical lesson consists of teaching both of these concepts. Also, I very much emphasize rhythm with all my students by using a metronome and making sure they're properly on time. I'm also very patient and can easily figure out solutions to move a student forward.
