I am a certified Pre-K through 6th grade teacher with a bachelor’s degree in Education and a minor in Human Relations. I hold certifications in both general education and special education and have eight years of experience working with elementary-aged students in a variety of educational settings. My background includes one-on-one tutoring, small group instruction, substitute teaching, and leave replacement positions in classroom environments. I have worked with students across a wide range of academic abilities and learning styles, supporting both typical learners and students with special education needs.
Throughout my teaching and tutoring experience, I have primarily worked with Pre-K through 6th grade students, focusing on reading, phonics, homework support, and foundational academic skills. I use a variety of instructional approaches, including visual, hands-on, and interactive strategies, because every learner is different. I adapt instruction to each student’s learning style, strengths, and interests to help them stay engaged and confident. I also have experience working as part of a social-emotional support team, where I supported students with emotional regulation, focus, self-advocacy, and confidence as they relate to academic success. I have a strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate milestones, which allows me to support students academically while being mindful of their developmental and social-emotional needs.
My tutoring approach is patient, supportive, and student-centered. I believe students learn best when they feel understood, encouraged, and confident in their abilities. I take a whole-child approach that addresses both academic skills and social-emotional development. I offer virtual tutoring with flexible availability, including daytime, evening, and weekend sessions, and I work closely with families to support each student’s learning goals.
