I have been tutoring students for the Biology Regents for over 15 years now. Some students can grasp a topic easily while others struggle a bit. Everyone learns differently and has the need to develop skills to help them understand the content better. By utilizing fun and unique comparisons or introducing mnemonics, my students can gain better comprehension of a sometimes difficult topic.
Science has always been a passion for me. Whether it's Biology or Earth Science, Astronomy or Physics, understanding the WHY is what I find most interesting and rewarding. However, watching when sa student of mine understands the WHY, seeing that light bulb go off in their head when they finally get it... that's a special moment that never gets dull.
