Hello! My name is Scott, and I hope to be your tutor soon! I am in college and have been tutoring student-athletes for over 2 years. I specialize in more math-focused subjects, and I sincerely like to see students grow and learn. Some subjects I have tutored in the past range from financial accounting to macroeconomics to geometry Regents. My approach to tutoring is personalized and catered to each student of mine. I am friendly, personable, and patient. I do not expect you to know the material you need assistance with; that is why I am here to help you. I like to be interrupted for questions, clarify things, and go slower or faster if you need. If you give me the preparation materials beforehand, I will make sure to explain them to you in a way that makes sense, which is through examples and written-out problems. I believe examples and repetition are the way to succeed, with overarching concepts being the backdrop to cognitive understanding.
During college semesters, I am highly recommended by peers, advisors, and other students because their understanding and mostly importantly, their grades increase! I have attended CRLA level trainings and am comfortable tutoring anybody from middle school to college. I have no preference for any of those age groups but am most comfortable with tutoring high school and college level currently.
